Con Air

General question: How much longer before one of the clowns with a TV or radio show gets busted by the Feds on an incitement charge?

They'd just turn it into a First Amendment circus complete with claims of a politicised DOJ. The GOP would raise a lot of money from it. :)

Death at the Holocaust Museum and the Degradation of the American Dialogue

"There is no Environmental Protection Agency to measure hate pollution in national dialogue, and no mechanism in place to warn us when the poisonous rage spewed into the national consciousness by shock-jocks, poisonous television pundits, megachurch leaders, and oh-so-subtle politicians, has reached dangerously toxic levels.

No, there is only the result: widows, orphans, collective grief, and an absolute refusal on the part of our loudest, coarsest voices to take any responsibility for their part in the carnage.

It looks like there will be little serious effort to rein in this insanity until somebody takes a shot at the President, after which there will be much hand-waving and "oh, if only.."ing.
These maniacs have gone so far down their road that they've long since left America behind.

There was always Howard Stern. Gross, but I just didn't listen to him. That's the American way, right? I can't put words to it, but you can just innately tell the difference between juvenile, stupid, gross verses hateful, harmful, oh-my-God this guy would rather have someone dead than talk to them. When I was young(er), for me, the first exposure on a National level to this hate media was when I was simply flicking the remote looking for something "entertaining" and I came across Limbaugh on his then new TV show. He said god awful things about the First Lady and her daughter, and others. It had nothing to do with anything (was he part Taliban or islam-extremists with his views on women!). He was just attacking them. Who was watching this crap! Sick things. I never heard grownups say such derogatory things about others. My parents always said, "do unto others" and be respectful. For me, my innocence of youth was gone. Rush introduced me to hate speech.

Do they incite hate simply for profit, and use those less well off or mentally ill as their minions? Ho hum.

Icks! I just don't get it.

How much longer before one of the clowns with a hate filled blog gets busted by the Feds on an incitement charge?

How much longer before all the bed wetting hand wringers get free psychological help for their imaginary demons?

Compare: Siegelman, Stevens, Franklin.

Big O suffers from post-partisan cognitive capture. He will not go near a prosecution that could be denounced as partisan, unless it will obviously increase his chances for 2012.

Funny, 409 above.... I didn't listen to talk radio and didn't even really know who Limbaugh was. On vacation one year in Texas, it was raining and since I was bored, I flipped around the channels and found Limbaugh's TV show. At first I thought what he was saying was a joke!! Like Colbert is now. Then I thought, oh no, this guy is serious.

I have never listened to him ever, except for the occasional clip on TV or the net.

But I'm sick of that kind of talk and language, whoever it comes from.

And I think that he has spewed poison and copy cats... much to the detriment of our democracy.
