Comrades-In-Arms

Courtesy of the folks over at Obsidian Wings (and others before them), take a look at this symbol of our brave new world---already in use and probably coming soon to a subway, train station, bus stop, airport or stadium near you.

Now I know I'm not nuts for writing this a few weeks ago.

And I assume Chuck Colson, G. Gordon Liddy, Pat Buchanan, Ben Stein and Peggy Noonan would also disapprove, unless the sign was revised to say: "Report any unusual activities or packages to the nearest conductor, grand jury that won't exist for a few months, newly-appointed and complicit Director of the FBI, the CIA that had employed two of the burglars, or the Attorney General who will be forced to resign."

Did you catch John Poindexter's project with the Pentagon (yes'm - same one as the Iran-contra affair) and his "Total Information Awareness" computer system. Oh man, it had a doozy for a image logo. They changed the name of the system from "Total Information Awareness" to "Terrorism Information Awareness". I don't know, I'd rather have these folks out in the open so we see their true colors. I mean, it is so difficult now, they say one thing (i.e., "blue skies), but do another (i.e., increase pollution).

Bypassing the words for a moment, you'd think any sign for commuters traveling between Baltimore and the capital, would display more diverse images of people; actually the image offends me more than the message. I do understand what they might be trying to say - most people I know tend to ignore these signs - reasonable people know what to do; perhaps the sign is just to intimidate and I guess the guestion is, who. They certainly don't want a Madrid here. But I understand, it isn't just this sign, that system, or another mistitled bill, but it all starts to add up after awhile; as they say in the investment world, it is the trend.

By the way, since Tom Ridge has left, what has happened to our color coded system? Or now that the election is over we don't need the coded system any more?

I see no reason to believe this is not a hoax. Does anyone know otherwise?

Hey, for a while there it was looking that the White House was going for a whole 1930s fascist motif. Flags flying everywhere, state-sponsored media, lots of uniforms around the president whenever spoke, rallies full of only the most adoring of audiences. It's nice to finally see the communist propaganda artists get a nod, too.

This came up at another site too, and people are saying they saw the picture, but when the transit authority was called they didn't know anything about it and were going to investigate it.

The likeness of the image looks similar to those in Bill Mahers book, "When You Ride Alone You Ride With Bin Laden: What the Government Should Be Telling Us to Help Fight the War on Terrorism", which are images from WWII.

PS: Be careful buying books and stuff at Amazon and other online sites.

Yea, I saw it yesterday on DailyKos. I couldn't help but think how closely it resembled something out of fascist Germany, and then when you read the message, how 1984 can you get?

Needless to say, I, sadly, was not surprised.
