They passed bills that would impose restrictions on our military commanders and set an arbitrary date for withdrawal from Iraq, giving our enemies the victory they desperately want.

As the surge is revealed as little more than a holding-pattern marketing job, expect to hear much more of this "stabbed in the back" meme.
