Shorter Hugh Hewitt: Stock market plunged because Mitt had a bad night.
By the way, Hewitt's site was good for a laugh last week. I hadn't read him in a long time, but knew he's a Romney booster so I couldn't resist. After this hilarious spin on the Iowa results, the natives seemed a bit, well, disillusioned. Some of the posted comments:

- Um. Are you drunk? The story of the night is Romney got worked. Trying to say it was anything other than that is delusional.
- Oh yeah, it was the MSM that helped Huck win. Hey Hugh, I got this bridge I need to unload.
- Great spin, I knew you would find a way to spin something in a fashion only you can!
- Romney Rising? Or Romney Writhing?
- You and Fred Barnes are looking like the real losers.
- Hugh's Next Book: "Why 75% of Iowa Republicans are Bigots"
- It is extremely discouraging to see someone I respect very much rationalize away their credibility. Hugh, please stop the demagoguery and mis-characterizations.
- Come on, Hugh! I have been a loyal listener of yours for years and because of that can't understand why you insist on this ridiculous spin game you are playing.
- I though I knew you as a true conservative Hugh. Sad really.

If Hillary is out, the Republican hate machine will come up with a new Democratic target. Hate is the core principle for them. Look how quickly they revved up the Swift Boats for Kerry. Their leaders have already started referring to Obama as "Hussein Osama" and painting him as the head of rioting hordes. The GOP is truly a perverse organization.
I take it you won't be cruising with HH?

...the Republican hate machine will come up with a new Democratic target.
It's working less and less. Coupled with staunch defense of the worst President in the past 100 years (maybe all time?), unbridled corruption, and ignoring of the country's wishes, their audience is shrinking. How deep a hole will the GOP dig for itself before pragmatic people take over?
If Hillary doesn't win, what will they talk about for four or eight years?
With alot of luck, they'll just go away, quietly. Not likely, I know.
