Creeping Malevolence Watch....

In the months before the election I asked it several times: Would November's losers be content to sit quietly in their unheated, half-price homes for the next four years?

As temperatures plunge (note the location) along with the economy and financial markets, are we starting to get the answer?

On this day, 45 years ago JFK was assassinated. My biggest fear since Obama started to run was of assassination. (I am old enough to have very vivid memories of that day and the days that followed.)

Stories such as the one you referenced, only increase my anxiety. This is what we have come to. And the campaign that was just finished, just stoked the fires of those that were afraid of a man with a different name and a different color of skin.

Lord help us, and help the Secret Service.

ALOHA !!

Killing a US President, no matter what color his skin is, has never solved anything. In fact no one man, President, or any other has such powers. The real power lies in the hands of those who are negotiating these multi-BAILOUTS ... the US FEDERAL RESERVE BANK.

I find the store sign in Maine very disturbing and just another "sign" of a future where America becomes an IDIOCRACY(see the movie)!!!

ITS THE MONEY STUPID !!!

Put it right next to the pool to select the date that John McCain may die (of natural causes) during the Obama presidency thus allowing Palin to take control had he, not Obama, been elected President.

I'm actually less concerned about an assassination attempt than I am about the rise in a few short weeks of violence against random citizens whose only "crime" is the color of their skin.

I think most of these people are afraid of Obama wielding the powers Bush seized the last 7 years. The same powers they advocated and wholeheartedly defended as constitutional. Now that there is a democrat as POTUS ( and to a lesser degree, a non white POTUS ) these tactics are scary and evil.

I'm amused by the "free speech" defense, because, you know, advocating the assassination of the President, even of the President-elect, has laways been covered by the First Amendment, right? How many high-schoolers over the past 10 years have been 'interviewed' by the Secret Service because of stupid statements and drawings?

Good point JohnR.

Once again I am underwhelmed by the intelligence and sophistication of one of my fellow Americans. What is wrong with these people? I think Bush and Cheney are two of the worst things to ever happen to this country. But I would never, even in jest, advocate their assassinations!

Sometimes I think it's a wonder we have gotten as far as we have.
