Late-Night Jitters At The Fed?
This blog gets lots of visitors from the Fed and Treasury. But I found this entry in the site's log sort of interesting:
In other words, at 12:22 a.m. on Wednesday someone at the Fed did a Google search for the phrase "Bernanke confirmation count." That search led them to this post from a few weeks ago. But why is someone at the Fed losing sleep over the vote? Obama and the Democrats have made it clear they're willing to cede the "change" issue to Republicans and go down with the status quo's ship.

Ben cannot possibly lose. Most of the 'populists' opposing him do it on the cheap. If it came to any last one of them to cast the deciding vote they would vote yes because otherwise 'confidence' might be destroyed and their picture would appear on the first page in the history book chapter on the second great depression. This may or may not be true, about the history book, but what person wants to take that chance?

The dude is definitely fair, and there's no suspicion.
This won't have effect in fact, that's exactly what I believe.
