When In Doubt, Have A Blackout

Increasingly these days, I'm finding myself wondering how today's Titular Right would have reacted to this or that if we had a President named Clinton or Gore. Latest example: if a senior member of a Democratic administration pulled something like this (HT Josh Marshall) what would be the reaction from the Right after the laughter stopped?

Thousands of Indians Protest Bush Visit

"Whether Hindu or Muslim, the people of India have gathered here to show our anger. We have only one message -- killer Bush go home," one of the speakers, Hindu politician Raj Babbar, told the crowd.

Great question! I wonder what the left would be saying if the Pres. were named Clinton or Gore?

Clinton should have used that as a defense in the monica thing. Altho, I have to say, the "it depends on what the meaning of is is" thing was pretty excellent...

I think we all know the answer; these are up is down days; hell of a job means incompetent. It is very important to watch want these guys do and don't take their word.

Reagan needed one of those (ie., "memory loss" expert) when it came to what he knew about Iran-Contra affair ;-)

Look at the stink they made about making Alito's wife cry --- and it was a Republican that did it (Lindsey Graham).

The same could be said about this article at the First Amendment Center. Where people that keep are government accountable, with stellar records of being unbiased, are being attacked by Republicans; their funds cut, their staff...

Isn't odd that President Bush found out about the Dubai deal via the news. On Tuesday, ABC interviewed the President, and he said he first learned the people of New Orleans were in trouble when he saw it on the news. Bush said we could have provided them with more comfort. Is Bush ever in the loop?

Ahhh yes, the Steve Martin Defense. "I-I-I-I-I-I Forgot!"

To be followed, no doubt, by "Well EXCU-U-U-U-USE ME!"

What is it they say? The first time tragedy, the second time farce?

Probably things like "It's great that we haven't had any terrorist attacks since we thwarted that September 2001 plot. And look at this balanced budget - isn't it amazing? How much good we can do for ourselves and the world, once our financial house is in order. And now that we have North Korea under control, what is to be done about Iran?"

Probably stuff like that.

President Al Gore: "Somebody suggested to me the other day that's it's a good thing I won in 2000, given all the obstacles we've faced since that election. But I had to disagree with them that we would have charged into a war on false pretenses, alienated 3/4 of the world, allowed North Korea to get the bomb, turned budget surpluses in record budget and trade deficits, added 5 million poor, abandoned hurricane victims, broken laws, neutered science and altered politically inconvenient offical government reports... their list just went on and on. Phew.

I said, "You're crazy. Take a pill. That could never happen here."

Ah, the Double Standard. Where would the GOP be without it?

If Hillary had tried this back in 1994, Rush would still be talking about it.

Someone above had it right. Clinton needed to say "I don't recall having sex with that woman."

Alito _and_ Roberts used "I don't recall" in their hearings.

Amazing.

Does granting someone immunity so they can't plead the fifth mean anything anymore?

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.

Take a look at Wallstreetwinnersonline.com
