Sacrifice Update

Today, the Pentagon reported that five more troops were killed in Iraq. That makes thirty-three killed in the last ten days, and 2,368 total.

Today I saw the current number of KIA's posted in the window of an apartment here in New York. What are you doing to remind others?

Well, I am reading the news reports, talking to friends and relatives about the insanity of the "war in Iraq" and about the fact that it had absoluelty NOTHING to do with the so-called war on terrorism - another misnomer used by the Bush administration.

As I wrote I would when TCR first suggested some sort of action to keep this sad number before my neighbors, I post (on poster board that is about the size of a campaign sign) the sad toll of dead and wounded in the kitchen window of my home each week. It is visible to any person walking by. But, I must say, my friends think I'm a kook, and my niece worries that my home will be vandalized. The garbage man hailed me, and gave his approval, though. His supervisor, who is in the Guard or Reserve, was going back for Round 2...

@ thirdeye: You are one cynical bastard. Go back to sleep.

@ TCR:

I said it before, I'll say it again:

What's with our Allies?

2,578 coalition troops have died.

Or do you just mourn the US citizens that perished on 9/11, too?
