Credibility Chasm

As we've come to expect on the issue of terrorism (and a lot of other issues as well) there's spin and then there's reality. Immediately after the arrests in London last week, we got the high-volume spin. Then, predictably and quietly, we got reality. Which do you think will stick?

Credibility chasm is right. I really don't believe anything this administration tells us anymore. And I don't know what to think when I read stories like this. Are they really that incompetant? Do they just not care? Is the threat of terrorism less than we have been led to believe? It can be hard to tell the difference between malice and incompetance.

Reality, of course. The only sure & positive way to prevent any future terrorism is man to man coverage and there just aren't enough bodies. Going with prevention is worth a pound of cure, it appears that good old detective work and citizen tips are working the best.
