Going Soft?
When I read this story last summer, I wondered if Israel's military had lost its edge (check out the photo with the tank in the background). This report did nothing to dispel that notion.
A few months ago, this photo caused a big stir in Israel.
Now there's this story, another signpost on Israel's road from survival mode to leisure society. Can you imagine any of this happening in 1967?

Well, since almost all Jewish Israeli women serve in the IDF, it's kind of a cheat to make a big deal out of a shoot made up of former IDF members.
This is Maxim's thing, not Israel's. They get off, if you'll pardon the expression, on tweaking people to get attention and titillating people to get their money.
I can't wait until next month's issue: The Women of Fatah.
My browser must be misfunctioning as I can't see the picture with the tank in the background.
The picture I see has a self-propelled 155mm Howitzer in the background.
The idea [of exhibiting scantily clad female Israeli ex-soldiers] originated in the media office at Israel's consulate in New York, where research showed that Israel meant little to young American men.
Meanwhile, research on aging American neo-cons showed that most of them continue to have a hard-on for Israel, metaphorically speaking, of course.
