The 17th Street Surgers Scowlers

Bolton will be livid (his cheeks will turn a deep scarlet, and his moustache will bristle, helped along too by the summer heat). Ledeen will sputter on rabidly, and of course, incoherently, about "Syran" or such. Pletka will nod her head knowingly in agreement, expressing deep woe, and rueing yet another display of Olmertian meekness. Juniors will then join and holds hands too, and someone will call Elliott wanting to know how it all happened.

Sounds about right. Probably some wild gesticulating and dark muttering in the inner sanctum of the Map Room these days....

I read the JPost article from which Olmert's comments were lifted, and it sounds more like he's taunting Assad than being sincere in his invitation.

Time will tell.

This is what often frustrates me about those who advocate toppling this or that government or invading this or that country. It seems they give no thought to what those things entail or the destruction that is wrought. They talk about invading and bombing like it's going to the corner store. The callousness they exhibit towards the lives and livelihoods of others is incredible.

Minor correction: livid is deathly pale, not deep scarlet.......
