The Flavor Flav Ambassador

Assuming the White House is never going to release the NSA documents, President Bush has two choices on the Bolton nomination: either ditch it and start over, or give Bolton a recess appointment. If he does the latter, Bolton's term would be limited by law to the end of the next Congress in 2006.

But we all know that this president dislikes timetables. He keeps telling us that. When asked about setting one for withdrawing troops from Iraq, Bush's mantra is that doing so "would send the wrong message to the enemy" and would allow them to "wait us out."

Exactly what message would it send to appoint an ambassador to the U.N. who, like that bad-boy rapper pictured here, goes to work with a big running clock hanging from his neck on day one?

Won't those who "need to be reformed"---both inside and outside the U.N.---simply wait him out while that clock ticks away?

TCR may have just discovered the way to put an end to this nomination once and for all: Start referring to this as the "Flavor Flav" nomination right now!

Actually, at this point the Flav call is not a bad one; he would probably do a good job!

How many times in a row can Bush do a recess appointment? Maybe he'll appoint Bolton now on a recess appointment, and then after 2006, reappoint him again during the next recess.

Why not? Rules don't apply to Republicans.

I'm more curious to know why it's so darned important that it be BOLTON, and no one else.

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.

Take a look at Wallstreetwinnersonline.com
