It seems a few members of the opining Right could use some help negotiating their business deals. Last week, Andrew Sullivan noted the hysterical tone of the inside flap of Ramesh Ponnuru's new book. Here's Ponnuru today, disowning it:

I don't think Iraq is lost, not by any means: I remain confident that the coalition will ultimately prevail.In the movie business it's called "final cut," and it's a standard part of a director's contract after he's reached a certain stature. Can't anyone come up with a literary equivalent for the standard-bearers over at National Review?
