"They Are Here To Kill Us"

A mini "War of the Worlds" type of hoax updated for the times. With a president who invokes the word "Islamofascism" out of political desperation, is the result really a surprise?

What result would the same hoax yield in the wake of another terrorist attack here, and/or if the economy really went into the tank?

Excuses made and that will be made will be in many ways more disturbing than even the initial reaction.

I only know one Muslim and she's the manager @ my local Starbucks. Nothing to be frightened of here.
I saw a profile on CBS Sunday Morning on Cat Stevens aka Yousif Islam ... nothing to be frightened of there.
IGNORANCE breeds fear.

I remember in the early 50's how the germans were willified for their action or nonactions after Hitler came to power.
NO excuses where allowed. "They should have stopped Hitler. They should not have allowed the separation of the jews. If they were decent and moral people they should could have stopped it, etc."

Well now we have the same thing here and what excuses can we make? At least the germans had no idea what Hitler's actions would lead to. Do we have the same excuse?

We think killing muslims and or arabs is just fine and dandy. So we torture them, excuse me interigate them with malice. That is a good and ethical american behavior. We give them the same respect that we have learned from the Isreal's toward the Palestinians. WHICH IS NONE. We treat our pets better then that and give them more value then we give an arab.

We seems to have arrived at that point of the 18th century where a universal accepted saying was "The only good indian is a dead one." Today we believe the only good "muslin/arab is a dead one."

How really sad, and I really can't see this changing in the near future, especially with a government that just loves to ferment hatred.

I live in the Detroit area which has the largest Lebenese population outside of Beirut. I haven't noticed so much anti-Muslim sentiment around here, but I don't hang out with bigots, so it's kind of heard to say.

This radio hoax is amazing and illuminating. I wonder if the host has a rightwing slant for the most part (which seems the case with talk radio other than NPR and which has listeners who would buy this). Good for him--no matter his political persuasion--for doing this and calling the dolts who phoned in on it.
