"Crude Political Direction Of The Prosecutorial Service"
I watched part of today's congressional hearings on the fired U.S. attorneys and found it fascinating. Even after years of banana republic, forehead-slapping moments, this stuff is striking. I don't have much time to comment, and since my reaction was essentially the same as this observer's (particularly his last two sentences) I'll simply link to it.
As interesting as today was, I suspect it's the tip of the iceberg.

Are we surprised? Gonzales used convoluted legal logic to support the use of torture. This is just what we get for allowing a man with no morals to become Attorney General.
So why aren't we investigating torture, as well as politically motivated firings?
Republicans going to prison on a conveyer belt... but not to worry, the ink on the pardons is almost dry.

I sure damn hope so!
This isn't that big'a deal.
We simply add "infuences electorial process" to the list of Judicial Powers we teach our children. That way, their idealistic little minds don't get confused.
