"Perpetual Calendar" Watch....

GWB yesterday:
I've just received an update on the situation from Iraqi Prime Minister Maliki. My conversation with the Prime Minister followed a briefing earlier this morning that included Secretary Rice and Secretary Gates, along with General Petraeus and Ambassador Khalilzad, who participated by video conference from Iraq.

Prime Minister Maliki and General Petraeus emphasized that the Baghdad security plan is still in its early stages, and success will take months, not days or weeks.
How many months? Krauthammer:
What essentially is happening now is the president has about six months into the fall to demonstrate success, and we see some inkling of that in Baghdad today.
"Three months" won't cut it it; too many renewal points before November '08. And "a year" is, well, a year; it sounds horrible. "Six months" needs to be recycled just a few more times before they get to dump this mess on the next administration.

Do we really need to put this on our calendars to revisit in September?
