Hey TCR, you're starting to sound like Matt Taibbi... it's a recurring theme in Taibbi's articles (during election season) that the national press focus exclusively on (meaningless and often false) trivialities about the candidates rather than any substance. During Election 2004, he ran a weekly "Wimblehack" contest where he paired campaign-trail columns from big-name pundits against each other, so that the worst columnist would advance to the semi-finals and then finals, to earn the title of "Worst Political Hack of 2004". I think it's time to rev up the contest once again!
I can hardly wait for Murdoch to take over the Wall Street Journal so we can receive deep, hard hitting analysis like this in the business realm.
