I am one of what I think is a total of three, maybe four, non Austrian School/Libertarian Greenspan haters.
Of all the absurdities in the modern world non was greater than the sight of 'free market' ideologs embracing the concept that markets can be managed, and should be, and literally worshiping the man who supposedly managed them. Concepts that to say the least are opposed. Yet the dichotomy was not even recognized, so no energy had to be wasted on cognitive dissonance.
He does posses a certain kind of Genius, or the kind a man named Ponzi possessed. After all it was a stroke of genius to engineer the biggest tax increase in history in the name of saving SS and then putting the proceeds into the budget with only a quasi legal IOU from the Treasury in return.
Wow...great post. Yes Greenspan is brilliant. Evil...but brilliant.
