Herd Mentality
This post on an entertainment industry website struck me as an interesting fusion of contemporary politics and pop culture:
During the past few weeks I've alternated between alarm and uninterested contempt. I'm still not sure which is more appropriate.
[SPOILER ALERT! SPOILER ALERT!]I saw the movie the first day it opened (Friday) and it was great! |

I suggest alarmed contempt.
How much more alarmed would that commenter be if they knew that there was a Jewish resistance, Jewish attempts at emigration (often stymied by US policy) and that the largest case of urban resistance -- the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising -- was a total failure in the context of WWII era weapons.
We can't all have our lives scripted by Tarentino.
The Cretin Alert is peaking on red at the moment.
"pushing Socialism/Nazism on the people"
I wish these people would make up their minds already. Its not like the two are even vaguely similar. I guess they still haven't decided who they are trying to scare.
The truly pathetic part is that they wouldn't recognize either if it hit them up the side of the head.
I alternated between indifference and contempt for some time -- it is difficult to assess what one truly feels when confronted by a belligerent ignorance that neither acknowledges its incapacity nor accepts any criticism of it -- but finally realized Plato was right: "Those too wise to engage in politics are punished by the governance of the foolish."
We were governed by fools for eight years and by their foolish ideology three times longer than that: Have we had enough of this abuse yet?
Alarmed at what? Today's youth couldn't organize a picnic let alone a revolution. LOL. The big yellow cattle carts with the flashing red lights have worked their magic.
I can't wait for tomorrow. I am sure CR will have something to say about "B-52" Ben's reappointment.
I just saw the movie. It is really, really bad, except for a few well done scenes in the middle that are not quite worth watching the rest of the movie to get to. Which you might expect.
Though come to think of it, if you just removed every scene in the movie involving Brad Pitt you might get something watchable.

I've given up arguing with the people who insist Hitler was a socialist because the full name of his party was the National Socialist Party.
Seriously--how does one argue with that mindset?
As long as folks continue to believe that one "side" of the political $hit sandwich is the good one, we are doomed. Its the dems turn to grab the violin and play away. I can't wait for the mouths of the dem faithful to drop when they finally realize that Barry will sell out his campaign promises and "ideals" for power's sake. The lesson of the past eight years wasn't that electing the wrong man would lead to disaster, but that single party control of DC inevitably leads to ruin. Stupid sheep.
I found a great deal of effective data in this post!
Thank you for this post, really worthwhile data.
Well, I do not actually believe it is likely to have success.
