A Fitting Epilogue

There can be no doubt that Saddam Hussein has biological weapons and the capability to rapidly produce more, many more. And he has the ability to dispense these lethal poisons and diseases in ways that can cause massive death and destruction. If biological weapons seem too terrible to contemplate, chemical weapons are equally chilling.

Colin Powell
Presentation to the United Nations
February 5, 2003

The world’s deadliest woman?

Male or female, Dr. Rihab Rashida Taha would rank among the most important of a new breed of Third World weapons designers -- highly nationalistic, western-educated and willing to violate any international norms or scientific ethics.

Robert Windrem, NBC News investigative producer, on "Dr. Germ"

And coming clean won't be easy. Syria, after all, stands accused of some serious crimes, such as giving safe haven to the likes of "Dr. Germ" and "Mrs. Anthrax," Saddam Hussein acolytes on the run for their involvement in Iraq's biological weapons programs.

Peter Brookes, The Heritage Foundation
April 21, 2003

Q Has the President been briefed on this surrender of a woman known as --

MR. FLEISCHER: Dr. Germ?

Q Yes.

MR. FLEISCHER: Yes.

Q What does he think about it?

MR. FLEISCHER: Well, I think the President is pleased with the numerous arrests and people who have been turned in or turned themselves in since major combat ended. It's another sign of what are still are difficult moments in Iraq on the security front. There are also good moments in Iraq, and these clearly represent good moments. It portends for a better future for the Iraqi people as the old vestiges of power are swept off the streets, swept up from hiding. We'll see, obviously, if she says anything. The pattern has been for the people that talk to continue to lie.

Ari Fleischer
Press Briefing
May 12, 2003

I humbly suggest that the a signal that the researcher nicknamed "Dr. Germ" is lying about Iraq's biological weapons program... is that her nickname is Dr. Germ! What, are we supposed to believe she got called that because of her bad hygiene habits?

Here's another one, Dr Huda Ammash, aka "Doctor Anthrax."

Gee, what do you think she's working on? How come none of these folks get called, "Dr. Common Cold"?

EVIDENCE ENOUGH
His name is Dr. Missile. Her name is Dr. Germ. Any questions?

Kathryn Jean Lopez
National Review
April 29, 2003

U.S. forces in Iraq are freeing "Dr. Germ and "Mrs. Anthrax," two of Saddam Hussein's leading biological warfare experts, following the failure to find weapons of mass destruction, lawyers said on Monday.

Three hundred years from now, some future firefighter will have a strange sense that things are not as they seem, almost as though a heavy veil has been lowered to create a more meaningful reality, one based on hypocricy and lies but necessary and indespensable nevertheless.

GWB and his military and intelligence advisors may believe their own hype but most people I know in my work and community determined long ago that the truth is of little consequence - a mere bump in the road on the way to their vainglorious mission to protect us all. I suspect Dr. Germ will be in Iran before nightfall.

I thought about it some more and what I meant to say is how great it is that "Freedom is on the March" in Iraq.

We seem to get more due process in Iraq than the U.S.

Yes, one minute they are imminent danger, the next... Maybe if they stopped the propaganda and psych-op exercises, and concentrated on doing the job...

In the war on terror and spying without FISA what exactly does does PETA, GreenPeace, Quakers, and Catholic Workers have to do with it. Is Bin Ladden posing as a Quaker now? Do they also spy on the NRA, Supremists groups, Aryan Nation, polygamist group that treat women and young girls like the Taliban.

This is a disgrace. Pathetic confirmation, if any were needed, of the bankruptcy of this administration's original rationale for invasion and occupation as well as their continuing shamelessness.

I made a quick review of the conservative bloggers I have bookmarked, and there was scarcely a mention of this humiliation. One of the few who did - to his credit - was Captain's Quarters. He was properly outraged, but then called for heads to roll at the Iraqi Interior Ministry of all places, obscuring (from himself no doubt) that they were released from U.S. custody, and went on to speculate that this outrageous denouement had to have been a jailbreak aided by a collaboration between Saddam loyalists and prison guards. The right is oddly blind to what a dangerous boob Bush is. Harriet Miers should have been a generalized wake-up call for conservatives. Unfortunately for all of us, it wasn't.

I have been following a site now for almost 2 years and I have found it to be both reliable and profitable. They post daily and their stock trades have been beating
the indexes easily.
