The American military even plans to build special, more defensible highways here, in its frustrating standoff with the makeshift munitions "improvised explosive devices" that Iraqi insurgents field by the hundreds to hobble U.S. road movements in the 3-year-old conflict.
Out on those risky roads, and back at the Pentagon, few believe that even the most advanced technology will eliminate the threat.

Big Dig? I'm from Boston. We don't fear insurgents. The only IEDs that take out our cars are potholes and some can swallow a car whole. We've got a governor who wants so badly to be president one day that he moved here from Utah, got elected, went out and convinced Americans that we were a bad state, and now is wondering why Americans won't elect somebody from our state as President. He makes me laugh everyday and I voted for him. Mitt Romney, if you read this, you fucked up. Your soon to be a king without a castle.

We have toll roads, too but they are disproportional. They are on the side roads but not on the road that got all the work.

IEDs, of course, are a symptom of the problem: the problem is there is no frickin' plan.
