Trifecta!
The utter time-capsule-ready perfection would be if they were standing arm in arm on top of a pileof rubble with a megaphone, but other than that, I agree with you.
I can't be the only one thinking this....doesn't it seem a little convenient that a Republican leaks this information just before what is already looking to be a disasterous mid-term election? It's now obvious to most that Iraq is in full-blown civil war. The security forces we are counting on to lift the burden of controling that country from our troops are turning into sectarian death squads. We have a record number of troops in the country, and they are dying at a record rate. Back on home soil, Bob Wodward's book makes it painfully obvious this Adminsitration did nothing to prevent 9/11. And more and more, more and more americans are starting to doubt the abiblity of the republicans to keeps us safe. If you're a republican strategist, you've got to be thinking something like, "We could use a good distraction right now." And what a fine distraction. You loose one seat, but that's about it. Hastert, safe in his district, takes most of the heat. Everybody else gets to go home and run against everything from paedophelia (something everybody hates) and the liberal media (a favorite target of the base). And guess what? The people at home are probably going to buy into it. So for one or two or three weeks, all we're going to hear about are the masturbatory habits of teenage boys, which is something we really can't do anything about. We won't hear anything about the war or security, which is something we can do something about....i.e., throw the fuckers out. Maybe I'm just cynical, but I've come by it honestly. It's a brilliant ploy. Does anybody smell Karl Rove here?
I was just reading theleftcoaster and he says thus, regarding the picture.
"Reuters photo of Bush, Brownie, and a man Bush no longer knows".
I found that particularly appropriate.
Wasn't it just last year that he didn't know Michael Brown???

phillybikeboy, you know, if this were any other administration and any other time I'd say, get that tinfoil hat off your head man ...but I gotta tell ya, right now and with due consideration given to the utterly putrid record of the sack of trash currently pretending to run this joint, you're making sense: let's distract hoi palloi with some juicy pedophilia w/ a dash of gay-bashing; it's got that Karl Rove stench all right.
The trouble with phillybikeboy's theory is that this scandal is a kick in the teeth for what's been the most slavishly loyal faction in the GOP coalition. Sure, the true zombies of the movement are buying into the Republican shills' disinfo, but I suspect there's got to be a fair amount of dismay among the church-going "values conservatives". Ask the American Catholic Church how well covering up works.

Sorry folks, this material has been out there a while - 3 months at least.
Best guess is that the kid got some counseling, was told to take an active step to gain closure, realized that Foley wasn't going to retire on his own and decided to push back to prevent the next round of pages becoming victims. The emails to go the exact organization where you would send something like this, and once it's in the news and nobody else needs to be labeled the one who took down Foley, they can easily jump in as well. The priest scandals went down the same way - one person broke through, and people came out of the woodwork with 'me too'.
That the kids were saving these emails and IMs for years is indication that they were considering this act, but just needed a push to get it started.
No conspiracies here.
Nail on the head, anonymous, you hit the nail on the head.
I'm not saying that's what happened, but it's pretty damn suspicious. And it's not like this sort of thing hasn't happened before. Remember Clarence Thomas/Anita Hill? Hill's allegations against Thomas were not unknown, and were not an issue, unil leaked by what the reporters involved said was a Republican source. And why would someone do something like that? Think back....before the leak, the Thomas nomination was in serious trouble. By many accounts he simply didn't have the votes needed for confirmation. It was believed (as has now been demonstrated) He simply wasn't qualified. But once that scandal hit--the porn rentals, the pubic hair laden coke can, and everything else--his total lack of qualifications were forgotten. And we all know how that one turned out. When there's the slightest hint of blood in the water, the media goesinto overdrive. Add a little semen to the mix, and everything else goes out the window. f the Democrats are smart (highly unlikely) they'll advise we let the ethics committee do their job, and go back to the issues the Republicans really don't want to face.
And God spoke: Let there be Stooges.
And let there be three of them.

Doesn't the one in the middle look kind of gay? Who is he, anyway?
They are saying it is a democrat conspiracy, that picture and all.
We are what we are, by the people we opt to surround us. And this picture says a lot.
