Hoosiers

Maybe he was referring to the literal meaning of "Fort" Wayne:
At a news conference shortly after their outing, Mr. McCain, an Arizona Republican, and his three Congressional colleagues described Shorja as a safe, bustling place full of hopeful and warmly welcoming Iraqis -- "like a normal outdoor market in Indiana in the summertime," offered Representative Mike Pence, an Indiana Republican who was a member of the delegation.

Please tell McCain to stop. At this point, it's just plain embarrassing.

One is reminded of Iraqi "Minister of Information" Mohammad Said Sahhaf. With gunfire crackling in the background, Sahhaf proclaimed, "As I told you, this is Saddam, this is the government, everything is normal"

You suppose Karl Rove is really Mohammad Said Sahhaf in disguise?

Can't we just take them at their word, agree that Baghdad is just like Indianapolis, and ask why we need to go on spending thousands of lives and hundreds of billions of dollars to secure a place that's already peaceful and stable?

Iraq = Indiana means the war is over. War is over = no more funding or troops.

If they want to babble absurdities, then just pull on the thread that they offer. And keep pulling.

Well, it gets pretty hot in Indiana in the summertime. Of course, in Iraq, it's a dry heat. And (for the oldsters) An' God didn't make little green cluster bombs...

I hadn't realized things had deteriorated in Indiana that much. Is it because they are without their national guard?

Everyone should join in this Easter Sunday to watch McCain and the Justice Department officials hide their own Easter Eggs.

Pence's comments were all over Fort Wayne's news this week. It is incredible...I am pretty sure that Pence and McCain do not wear body armor when they are walking around the States.

I just read a blurb on Andrew Sullivan (I think) which referred to a report that 21 people were murdered in that market the day after McCain and company strolled through...has anyone else seen this?

Appalling.
